1. A triangle with the base at the top and the apex at the bottom. This is the basic pubic-only pattern so the apex is at the perineum and the base is above the genitals in front of the pubic bone.
2. As above but with a line running up to the belly button.
3. As no. 1 but with a second triangle sharing the base with the first and with the apex at the belly button.
It then went on to say that most girls/women have the 1st pattern. It said pattern one was also present in males but that the other two were more common. But whether that is an over-simplification, I don't know.
But, because both sexes have both sets of sex hormones only with a difference balance, rather than having all of one and none of the other, with any pattern of hair growth that is usually considered male, some females can have a reduced version. So, for example, one wouldn't ever see a women with an Edwardian military style full moustache (search Earl Kitchener for an example) but some can have a faint moustache and would shave it because of cultural norms. I imagine the happy trail is a similar case. Some women can also experience thinning of the hair on the crown, i.e. male pattern baldness, though again a milder version and usually it is not so obvious/easier to disguise. -
I started getting mine at 16 though it’s not very noticeable

I have a happy trail. Not a lot of hair, but it shows because it is black. It was first hair after pubes. Just starting to get pit hair, and have no chest hair yet.
