Book bans in the U.S. tend to target books aimed at children or young adults. They also tend to be more common in smaller towns and rural areas, so banning the book can effectively remove access to it.
And the most common reason for a book to be banned nowadays is LGBT characters or themes. Book bans still aren't that common, but they've become more common over the past few years, which is sad. Feels like we're going backwards. -
yeah, we're definitely going backwards. especially florida, that state is turning into a shitshow. racism, transphobia, and homophobia is running rampant over there, and its reflected in their book bannings. if anyone lgbt is living in florida, you need to get out as soon as you can. its beyond help at this point.

Banning stuff seems to be the best way to get people interested in it

There's a school in the Toronto, Ontario area that removed all books published before 2007 in order to create a more inclusive library.
Its created quite the shitstorm apparently.
I find it completely mind boggling and asinine quite frankly. -
