Halloween Poems

    • Vampires suck
      Don't you know?
      They'll drink your blood
      All in one go

      They can fly around
      As a vampire bat
      But will never cross
      Your welcome mat

      They always look so good
      But never in a mirror
      You want to date them
Even though you know they are a killer

      They barely ever eat
      My garlic bread
      But when they do
      They end up dead

"If you try to follow fashion you'll always be chasing, and probably never catch it. If you be yourself and make your own style, fashion might just bump into you one day."
    • Around the throne a glorious band,
The saints in countless numbers stand,
Of ev'ry tongue, redeemed to God,
Arrayed in garments washed in blood.

      Through tribulation great they came;
      They bore the cross, despised the shame;
From all their labors now they rest
      In God's eternal glory blest.

They see their Saviour face to face,
      And sing the triumphs of his grace;
Each day and night they sing his praise,
To him the loud thanksgiving raise:

"Worthy the Lamb, for sinners slain,
      Through endless years to live and reign;
You have redeemed us by your blood,
And made us faithful priests to God."

O may we tread the sacred road
      That saints and holy martyrs trod;
Wage to the end the glorious strife
And win, like them, a crown of life.

That's a song for All Saints Day, which Halloween prepares us for. It was written by Rowland Hill, who invented the postage stamp.
    • Flying on my broomstick
      With my pointy hat
      Casting lots of spells
      And my black cat

      A couldren with a potion
      Stir it really quick
      Add the right ingredients
      Don't make it to thick

      Dancing with my sister
      Singing out our spell
      Bringing life to nature
      Field, river, hill and dell

I think you can probably tell
      That I am a witch
I might change you into a frog
But I am not a bitch

    • Hello little ghost
      What's your name?
      Is it Blinky, Clyde,
      Slimer, Casper, or Flame?

      Don't be scared
I'd like to be your friend
      Even though your life
      Is now at an end

      You float around
      Like a big white cloud
      With the new body
      You've been endowed

      Oh no
Though a wall you float away
I hope we can meet again
      Another day

    • Clouds part to show
The light of a full moon
      Streaming through the forest
On to the remains of a ruin

      A rustle in a bush
      A movement in a blurr
      It's just another animal
A flash of grey white fur

      The sound of something howling
      Could it be a dog?
      The view ahead is failing
      Decended by a fog

      The scene set around you
The time is now to late
      A werewolf jumps towards you
      To seal your deadly fate

    • Ghost and ghouls
      come out to play
      Upon the eve of
      This All Hallows' Day

      Witches and wizards
      With pointy hats
      Lizards, snakes, spiders
      And vampire bats

      The children run
      Along the street
      From house to house
      To trick-or-treat

      The distant sound of Werewolves
      Howling at the moon
Out of the shadows comes a figure
It could be over too soon

You wake up in the morning
With bite marks upon your neck
Was it that mysterious new boy
      You think what the heck

      Check for the monster
      Underneath your bed
      But what's that inside?...
      ... a severed head
