World smallest Indian Teenager In The World
This little lady has got plenty of pride.
Like most teens, Jyoti Amge loves listening to pop music and watching DVDs. She attends high school in her native India and dreams of becoming a Bollywood actress.
Yet this fully-grown 15-year-old is dwarfed by her neighbor’s baby – and her own backpack – standing a mere 1 foot, 11 inches tall and weighing 11 pounds.
Amge has a form of dwarfism called achondroplasia, and is the world’s smallest girl according to the Indian Book of Records.
Of course, something as insignificant as size isn’t keeping her down.
"I am proud of being small," she told the Sunday Mirror. "I love the attention I get."
She attends classes with students her own age at her local high school in Nagpur, India, and sits in a miniature desk that was especially made for her.
Her mother, Ranjana, 45, didn’t realize her daughter’s condition for years after her birth. "When Joyti was born she seemed quite normal," she said. "We came to know her disorder when she was five.
"Jyoti is small, yet cute, and we love her very much."
She’s also clever enough to take advantage of her celebrity status. She recently recorded an album with her favorite Indian pop star, Mika Singh.
"I’m just the same as other people," Amge said. "I eat like you, dream like you. I don't feel any different."
