I don't have a problem with the sport, it's just something I can't stand. And to be honest, most people here in America grow up watching sports, if any at all. I must say, I don't see soccer being among the popular population.
Why do so many people bash soccer?

That's only in America. Football is a way of life in many countries
Not every sport can yield millions of fans screaming when their country wins something.Yes, I am an STD.

I hate the word soccer. It's football. American football stole its name. It makes more sense for soccer to be called football anyway.
I've always pondered myself why American football is called what it is. I know it refers to measurement, but in actuallity, it's measured in yards! Why not Yardball? It makes more sense.
Oh, and I've read that Football is the widely reguarded as the most popular sport in the world. It's not the pain that drives them, but the pursuit of pleasure that's not there, -
Soccer is known as the 'world' sport....no other sport would bring the world together quite like football/soccer.

my proudest moment as a sports fan was being at Dodger stadium in 2004 and watching Steve Finley hit a walk off grand slam to win the game and the NL West. that was AWESOME.

Its becoming more popular in australia, and its definitely more skillfull than rugby or afl, but its just so boring. I'm not even into sports, but I can handle aussie rules football, but nothing really happens in soccer (from someone who's never really bothered with it's perspective).[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]...

They bash it because they don't understand it. Its a "faggot's sport" remember
I love soccer, I play it every day if I can, and I have a season ticket at Sunderland. Unfortunately, (and this is the most confusing thing) former British colonies aren't very big on soccer. Fair enough, there are exceptions, such as Carribean islands, but the 'big' colonies such as Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the United States just don't seem to bother very much with it.
Remember though, Baseball was invented in England -

To be fair though, I do wonder how sissy professional football has got, what with all of these falls and cries for pain every time an opponent tackles you.

If any American wants to dispute that, we can simply push them in a Turkish crowd during a Turkey-vs-anyone match during a FIFA World Cup rally. It will need more than a man to survive the crowd.
I think a Turkey - Germany game would work very very well. hahahaIf anyone ever needs anyone to talk to about anything hit me up at or AIM: camcakes91
