It counts, if you get raped as a virgin you have had your virginity stolen from you, never the less you are not a virgin anymore.
Are you still a virgin after being raped?
-
-
No, losing your virginity is a mental and emotional thing as well as physical. I think you still count as a virgin.
-
I do wonder if there will be a boy/girl divide in opinion on this...
I think it depends on how the victim feels. I think the beliefs that your virginity is intact or that your virginity was stolen are both valid depending on their personal reaction to the situation.[CENTER]

Rep for that. So well put.
And I think there will be a boy/girl divide...I'd guess it's going to seem a lot more clear-cut to the boys, unless they're incredibly empathetic. -
It depends if your looking at virginity as a physical or emotional thing.
people who look at virginity purely in the physical sense are usually the same people that say that a girl performing oral sex, getting fingered, or performing in any other type of sexual act other than intercourse still have their virginity in tact.
some people say that virginity is performing in any type of sexual act, so a girl that consents to performing oral sex is also giving up her virginity.
like someone said before, its all on how the victim feels about their virginity.[CENTER]Sometimes The truth hurts

Virginity isn't a physical object, and is thus defined by belief.
It's entirely up to the person whether they think it counts or not. -

I think it counts. Virginity is if you've had sex or not, and being raped is sex, even if it is against your will.

I think it counts. Whether it was consensual or not, you've still had sex. Regarding the mental aspect, loss of virginity is loss of innocence, and you're definitely losing innocence if you're raped.[CENTER]

it counts."Something to relieve the pressures of their everyday life, like having to tie their shoes. "

Always Counts. You can spruce it up and say 'Mental & Emotional' but at the end of the day you had sex so you lost the v-card.

I'm starting to wonder if there's going to be a virgin/non-virgin divide as well. I'd like to know whether people are virgins or not and then see what they answer. -
Well since virginity is about having sex and when you get rapped you did it, then you lost it.[CENTER][SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Did you even read the post above you?
I said raping is NOT sex.
Yes I did read the post above me and that doesn't change my opinion.
And I do disagree with you, I think it dose have to do a lot with how people define things, and that will decide that stand on this matter.
It seems your mostly defining things by your own personal emotional feelings. Well I'm defining them as stated by the dictionary.
Virginity-
1. the state or condition of being a virgin.
2. the state or condition of being pure, fresh, or unused.
Virgin-
A person who has never had sexual intercourse.
Sexual intercourse-
The erect penis of the male entering the vagina of the female.
Being raped is a hard thing, and I'm kinda split on this one. You could be seen as both.
But when someone asks you "Are you virgin?"
What is it that they really want to know?
It's usually if you have intercourse.
Rape is still intercourse although you don't want it. And the dictionary defines sex as intercourse.[CENTER][SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I agree with Ren. If you get raped you may never of wanted sex but it is still sex. Therefore if you were a virgin you are not any more. As soon as a dick goes in someone, you are not a virgin forced or not. And i dont think it is a mental/emotional thing, as sex is physical. You might not of wanted it but it happen and someone took your virginity from you. So all in all, if you were raped and was a virgin, you not one any more despite how it happened.
-
If the rapist has sexual intercourse with you then yes, you lose your virginity. No matter how morally wrong you think it is, you still lose your virginity.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
-
I agree with Ren.

if the dick went in the pussy, it's done, the cherry popped, the baloon blew up, theres nothing you can do about it, you're not a virgin anymore......

They can deny it all they want, being raped has nothing to do with it. If the act of sex has taken place then your not a virgin. Simple as that. Idealistic views of being emotionally/mentally a virgin is crap and pathetic.
