Speech..

    • I have to do a speech on whether or not the legal drinking age in the U.S. should be 18. I personally think it should. Why? For several reasons such as:

      • Considered an adult at 18
      • Can purchase/smoke cigarettes at 18
      • Can fight in the war
      • Can vote
      • Can get into bars at 18
      • People under the age of 21 drink anyway
So I am just wondering what you all think about this. Any other good reasons to why it should or should not be the legal drinking age?

Arguments for the speech shouldn't just be "oh, cuz every other legal age starts at 18." Research some of the consequences of drinking, as well as teenage hormones, immaturity, as well as the tendency to rebel. Investigate into supporting cases for your argument. Counteract other popular points made by debaters.

Honestly? No, I don't think it should be at 18 unless you want to see the mortality rates of teenage car accidents increase.
