Medicine

I'm interested in a career in medicine, but thing is I didn't do too well in my GCSE's:
I got 2 A* 4 A's 4 B's and 1 C. Alright that is better than the average person, but medicine-wise it's kinda low...
I'm gonna take my AS exams soon (5 of them), if I get 5 A's, has that put my right back on track to pursue a career in medicine, or has my GCSEs really fucked me up for good?
Anyone here doing medicine with similiar type of GCSE results as me?

Your GCSEs haven't messed up your chances 'completely'.

True it does make it harder but if you do get good AS, and A levels you may be okay. Also Medicine requires lots and lots extra-curricular stuff. Work experiance in a hospital or some such setting would be amazing.

I don't know how it works over there, but in the United States, you can major in anything, study anything, but as long as you take the pre-medical requirements (tons of science and math), get good grades, you can get into medical school.

I can major in say, Philosophy, and still go to medical school to become a doctor.
