Sony are good for mp3s that might be an bias opinion from me though as i have one. It is 16gb and was only £100 so i think it's good value.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Go with RC's suggestion, something like Sony or LG. i know for a fact, both produce high quality electricals. If you go with something like an IPOD, your gonna have headaches. Can you imagine what I would do if I could do all I can?

My DVD rips aren't 1:1. I don't care about the loss of quality. Standard DVDs are about 700MB, but will obviously be larger for longer films, so 800MB and 900MB are not uncommon.
Depends what program you use to rip and encode, i've got movies like the good, the bad, and the ugly, which runs for close to 3 hours, with quality nearing 80% and lossless audio, the files 701MB (compressed AVI)
AutoGK, SUPER and DVD Decrypter are all i've ever used, no rips over 720MB, thats out of 94 movies, longest running at 2:55.Can you imagine what I would do if I could do all I can? -

the Sansas are pretty cheap and nice.

Personally I like Sansa for MP3 Players. But, Ipod is going to be your best bet because of the compatibility of music with Itunes. But, It's your choice.
Best of luck,
