I don't understand some parents.

    • I don't understand some parents.

Like, with the things that they allow their kids to do.

For example, my friend's mom lets her my friend's boyfriend spend the night with her in the same bed and everything. Her mom knows she's having sex and everything, but my friend's 16, I really don't think her mother should be allowing her daughter to do such things.

Or another girl I know, who's about 15 was talking not too long ago about how she was moving in with her boyfriend's family, isn't that a little too soon and too young?!

      I just don't get it!

my parents allow my girlfriend to stay over and sleep in the same bed as me and her parents allow her to stay over and sleep in bed with me. i'm 18. she's 19. we've been sleeping together for a little over half a year.

i personally wouldn't let my 16 year old sleep in the same bed as her boyfriend, but i'd rather them be having sex safely under the roof of their own home than in the backseat of a car somewhere.

      ^ This.

It's just the way that some parents
are, you know? You can question
all you want, but the thing is is that
it's just the way it is. Some parents
believe in different stuff and it really
depends on how people grew up.

      Hi :)
As others said before, some parents are
brought up differently to others. They will
either let their kids do as they themselves
did when they were young, or else prevent
them from making the same mistakes they
      did.
I think that it is fair for a parent to give their
kid a longer leash as they get older. The six-
teen yeah old you mentioned - well, so long
as she is being safe and using protection,
      then is it so bad?
Everyone sees things differently, and everyone
is brought up differently. You can question
other's parental skills but at the end of the
day, there are so many things that determine
what a person is like when they're older
that we cannot judge parents on this sort
      of thing.
Besides...with a lot of people out age (teen-
agers), if we're not allowed something, it
makes us want it more. It's part of the
teenager rebel thing. Like, if you refuse
point-blank to let your kid drink alcohol
until they're old enough, chances are
they'll nick some at a part to try it or
      something.
Lots of people have differene views
about this. Personally I think us teens
should have a longer leash, but be
controlled so we don't go nuts.

15 or 16 I'd say is a little young. And I do believe though that just because they sleep in the same bed doesn't mean they're having sex. Not every teen is that irresponsible. I think her mother should watch her back since it is kind of illegal I think, but other then that . . . . hey! it's her mothers decision. Although I wouldn't say that it's right to sleep in the same bed at that young of an age. I think it's okay for the boyfriend to sleepover. Just not in the same bed or room. I guess I shouldn't talk to much though since I mean when I was twelve I would make out with my boyfriend on the bed. My mom knew all about it. We never actually slept in the same bed though.
