I went for a college work study job interview today. It was for a job working in an ID office. She was just showing me the office and saying general tasks. She explained that I would be taught how to do all this. So I just nodded, you know. There was nothing else to say because she was talking the whole time. Well she kept mentioning I was quiet. I was just thinking, it's 8:30 am and you're interviewing for an evening position. Not only am I not awake, but I can't get a word in edgewise. The sad thing is that I'm going to a small school. If I can't find 11 hours of work per week, I have to pull $1600 out of my ass each semester. This job was only 3 hours, so I'd have had to find another job or two anyway.
But even being talkative has gotten me nowhere. I applied at Chick-Fil-A last month. I was very outgoing at the interview, and the manager kept complimenting how I'd make a good team member. But I haven't gotten that job.
So what do these employers want from me? I feel like there's no hope.
