      No, just follow standard procedure and scramble fighter-jets the minute any commercial plane goes off course and does not report why or loses contact with the ground. Whenever ANY jet goes off course it is given a military escort back to an airport and if they don't comply or pose a threat to civilian infrastructure, yes, they are shot down. None of that happened on 9/11...

      I would like an instance where this has happened. Not that I refuse to believe it hasn't I've just never heard of an instance where it has is all.

      The supposed argument is to boost America into supporting the "war on terror". I think there are easier ways to do this however than killing thousands of citizens. It's a pretty weak argument.

      Maybe you don't have any idea, but the people who staged this event certainly do. In a nutshell, would Americans have accepted the demolition (no pun intended) of their constitutional right (PATRIOT Act) without this major event? Would we have all stood behind the Mother Government without a tragedy to unite us "for the cause"?

      Yes, they could have invaded Iraq and Afghanistan without this crisis and got their oil, their military presence, destabilized the region, and whatever else they wanted. But without the "We're under DIRECT ATTACK!!!" scenario the public would not have been in unilateral agreement. Could they still do it? Yes. Would it been as easy without 9/11? No.

      Oh, it's not weak. None of the "easier ways" of doing it would have been as effective at convincing the public to support the government as having America (and the entire world) see 2 of their mightiest buildings collapse and 3000 Americans die. It's sad, but it's true.


      I've seen people say it's ridiculous that our government would do something like that for political gain, but just look at history. Hitler burned his own Reichtag to get his still-Democratic country to accept a dictatorship and go on its world conquers. (Or, as Hitler said, "defending our great nation from enemies, foreign and domestic") We have even PROPOSED attacking OURSELVES is the 1960s as a pretext to invade Cuba. So it's definitely NOT a weak argument.

      Yes because everybody put in charge is Hitler? Really? Because if that's the case I fail to see a yellow star sewed onto all of my clothing and I fail to see a dictatorship with anti-semitic propaganda, and I fail to see storm troopers raiding my home.
