What's the average head width of a caucasian male?

I think my head looks really big in comparison to almost everyone I know, but from what I've read, it's close to average. I don't get why it looks like it's bigger than it is. Can any of you guys measure the width of yours and post it here? Mine's 15.5-16cm. The widest point is at the very top at the back

You could just as easily have a normal widthed head, but it's bigger than usual in terms of length, making it slightly bigger in general.

Isn't measuring girth a better way to do this? Otherwise I have problems with getting the right number. Looks like something about 18 cm.
