I have noticed that more and more kids are losing their virginity younger and younger these days. I am thirteen and I'm a virgin. I think making love if you really love somebody is perfectly fine. The problem is that kids are having pointless sex with others that they barely know because they think it makes them cool. I know a couple twelve year-olds that are pregnant. And I've had girls younger than me offer smokes and sex. It's just getting a little crazy. What are your opinions?
What's up with kids losing their virginity so young?

It is what it is my friend.
-
First of all, glad you are one of the rare teenagers with some sense in your head, good job
It's basically what you said ''It's cool''It's fun and all, 'till someone gets an STD. -
Because of the media and how casual sex has become, kids are introduced to all this at a much younger age.
-
Best advice possible "Keep it in your trousers"

Makes me sad when I see on Maury 14 year olds having sex with 300 men. I find sex as a thing that you only do with someone you really love. Do it with everyone in the neighborhood and you'll be a slut IMOsad

From my experience, they do it to fit in, and be cool. It's all about popularity, and being the coolest.
-
Well I'm happy you're not following them. An old friend of mine did it at 11. Disturbing. I mean he was this tiny [shorter than me at the time] scrawny kid and to imagine him...*shudders* Of course it was to "fit in" and "be cool". Also because of depression, issues, so he assumed having sex with random people would help him feel more "in-control" since sex is seen as a mature thing to do.

There is no problem with spontaneous or casual sex, but you're right, at your age there is. You can thank the media and the neglect of parents for these occurrences.
-
First I'd say parents should openly discuss the issue with their children. However, beyond that, it's a personal choice. If they make an independent decision and it turns out wrong, they will have to take the consequences. I am no more surprised by 12 year olds having sex using BC than I would be surprised by 22 year olds having sex using BC, as long as they're responsible about their actions it's fine by me."The point of philosophy is to start with something so simple as not to seem worth stating, and to end with something so paradoxical no one will believe in it"-Bertrand Russell

Because there is peer pressuremymanryan:wink:

NO ^ that's not the reason, peer pressure exists everywhere, i had my dad try to make me do drugs, how is that for pressure? Well, i didn't, Just because the wind blows one way doesn't mean you can't try a bit hard and go against the wind.

It is pretty ridiculous nowdays.. I keep hearing from my friends that are in high school, and they are telling me that more and more people are getting pregnant. I guess some people are now in a hurry to have sex.. I am 20, and a still a virgin. It just the decisions people make, and the girl "thinks" she can raise a baby at such a young age.Také =p

I really what their problem these days. What was once your life, is now your legend.

I think it's peer pressure mixed with bad parenting. Parents these day just don't care what the hell their kids do. I was raised old school where daddy whoops your ass when you do something wrong. A lot of parents don't do that anymore and their kids are running wild.

The sad truth is you guys are right. Many of them don't really want to have sex
or do drugs. They just want to fit in so badly that they do. They are young and
usually won't use protection. The urge to be liked overpowers their will power. This
generation is the most pressured ever. I pray that they make the right decision. -
What? what about generations ago when they had to get up before sunrise to go to work?
This generation is the most spoiled, and used to always getting what they want, that is the problem.
