Word, I fail at life myself, but personally i wouldn't give up that easily. Perhaps its a fleeting fear and he'll come to terms with it.

He's still getting over the girl from the 4 year relationship. Wait at least half a year before atempting a relationship with him.

you can't move too fast, the man just got out of a 4 year relationship. Put yourself his shoes, it will be awhile before he gets into anything serious again. Take things slow:)

I agree with the two above me. If he just got out of a four year relationship, he's definitely going to be thinking about that girl and with you coming onto him so strong, he may feel like you are trying to catch him on the rebound. Plus, if it was a bad breakup, he could be emotionally scarred. Healing takes time.

You love him and you barely even know him? Sounds like a crush to me. Anyway, take this advice. Never say you love a dateable person until a decent amount of time has past (aka months/years depending on situation). Doing so will only scare the other member off. Remember, everyone wants a challenge. The act of acquiring a lady, then convincing her, and making it a challenge of making her fall for you is what us men are all about. If it is not a challenge, then something is wrong.

Hun I can't lie to you - you went way too fast for him. Four years? That's a LONG relationship - you have to understand that it's gonna take a long time for him to get over this. He 'just' got out of a 4 year relationship? Well you need to give the guy a lot of time before you get that serious. He's most likely not ready, especially since he gave you that response.

You could talk to him about this and tell him you did not mean to scare him - ask him what he wants. He may need to clear his head for a while.
