Just made this today for a creative writing assignment, have no idea if it's any good. Any feedback would be appreciated:


Love(less)

Not warmth and pleasure, nor joyfulness and delight

Love brings limitless depression.
Like a false way that runs into oblivion.
That promises love, and
Reciprocation and...fulfillment.

Love.
It coaxes the soul's most profound expression of
Selflessness, passion, caring.
Making the rawest, deepest facet shine out
From the dull skin of all of us.

Love changes people.

Becoming their most vibrant torch or deepest cavern.

Love bestows boundless hope
For things never to come, prodding the soul ahead,
Dragging it through the foulest mire in search of
A fabled treasure until, at last, it is
Exhausted, beaten, and senile.

So go now,
Pursue your own,
See what will become of your once fresh love.

But,
Always recall that feeling,
That feeling of depth, so direct and distant.
