I used to be a bully during high school...

Sometimes we do regretful things out of ignorance. Have you made amends with the people you bullied back then? If not, that would be somewhere to start.Keyboard not found. Press F1 for help.

yes trying to make amends with them is a good way of trying to be forgiven (though they might not accept it completely)

I have made amends with them

I dont know you so its not my place to forgive you. I will warn you from my experience of being bullied throughout most of my school years up to now is that words of apology alone would never be enough for me to forgive any of them and I wouldn't trust anything they said either. If they left me completely alone afterwards as well I would probably start to believe them but I don't think any action would ever be enough for me to forgive the pain they caused me. But honestly thats the best thing they could ever do for me. Say their sorry and never interact with me again. Not everyone is me though obviously.
I'm not saying that you can't change or haven't. Honestly if you have then good for you. Be proud of that. I'm glad you realized the pain you were causing others and decided to change. I'm just giving you insight from someone who is way to familiar with being a bullies target, forgiveness won't easily be earned and shouldn't be expected. Just keep showing you've changed by being a good person every day and they will decide if and when you are forgivenMy (#12) stats:
