As an Introvert, I know it can be hard sometimes. These 5 hour family meetings (where after 2 hours everyone asks me if I am okay) drain me completely and school is tiring. My mum wants me to go outside and meet up with friends all the time however I'd just go eat ice cream by myself. How do you survive and do you have any tips for other introverts? What are your daily struggles?
Introverts, how do you survive?

5 hour family meetings...? For what??

I just get ignored by most people anyway. So it's not hard to all ways be by myself
Though actually constantly being all by myself gets lonely

I like a lot of one person activities....games, TV, and chatting when I'm lonely -

My twin sister and I used to be pretty introverted, with us happily spending lots of time at home. But by now our friends have gotten both of us to be more extroverted.
Never had 5-hour meetings waste my time and energy though, probably not much of either left to be an extrovert.19, Twin. -
How i survive as an Introvert?
Well the same question i ask myself everyday and the answer is "I don't FU***G know" -
I was a very introverted child and being asked why I don't talk more or why am I so shy would either stress me out to the point I wanted to cry or make my blood boil. I somewhat just grew out of it but I did make a concerted effort to say hello to people and grew to starting conversations with people. I live in NYC so I would come across literally thousands of people a day on the streets. The more effort I made to just make random small talk with people, the easier it became. I still prefer not to talk much of the time and it does take a lot of my energy but I am quite openly friendly and chatty these days. I do need quite a bit of alone time though.

similar to NYCGal, a lot more infroverted as a child, but sports, clubs and a few summer camps helped to get me to open up more but my alone time is still key

I'm a little introverted, takes me time to feel comfortable around new people.
Forced myself to talk to a lot of kids at the party last night and I was surprised how much better i felt about myself. -
Why is it about survival? I’m pretty introverted myself and wouldn’t say I’m ever unhappy?

I'm introverted and so are my friends. When we get together, tho, u'd never know we were introverted. We're mostly uncomfortable around ppl we don't know well. That's all. I actually like some quiet time every day. Look forward to it.
If I'm in a situation where the ppl around me can be too much, I kinda zone out, think about other things. Idk if that's normal or not.
My brother has had anxiety attacks when he is in loud or busy places. Like he can go to a theater and be fine. But a mall before Christmas can be too much. He had trouble in school but now he's doing better. -

Ignore people and hyperfixate in something
Leave and go for a walk
hope there is a dog or cat to play with and talk to instead of people -

Books and video games help me a lot, especially after coming home from school. I also like to read during lunch since I sit by myself

Oh yeah, we have a dog and that's really a good thing. This Christmas I got Microsoft Flight Simulator. It's kinda a solo thing. I like to play. U really have to concentrate. The real world falls away.
