Jade's Christmas Poem

    • Jade's Christmas Poem

      Christmas eve is here,
Mince pie and sherry left out for Santa Claus,
      The children tuck up bed,
      Waiting intently warm indoors.

      But awake they still are,
      Too excited to fall asleep,
Wanting to see the man in red
There eyes open they will keep.

But gradually the lack of energy,
      Weighs heavy on their eyes,
As a sleigh pulled by reindeer,
Flies across the star filled skys.

They wake up nice and early,
      Jump on their parents bed,
      Nagging till they agree,
      "Downstairs it's time to head"

      They rush quickly down,
Throw open the door to see,
      There's piles of multicoloured presents,
Neatly stacked underneath the Christmas tree.

Looking at the box shaped presents,
      Wondering what it is inside,
Is it a doll, a car, a jigsaw puzzle..?
      They just can't decide.

      Rip off the wrapping paper,
Try to do it extra swift,
Hope it's what you always wanted
      Your extra special Christmas gift.
