Personally, my parents have never done this, but you're probably not the only one. Maybe they regret what they tell you at the time. It could also be because of a number of personal problems they're going through, and all it takes is for you to do something they're going to take badly at the time for them to say something that's going to hurt you. Some parents can have a different attitude and react in a very surprising way. Why don't you talk to them about it? It might be a good thing to do.

I know it might not seem easy but try talking to them about how it makes you feel. They might not even realise they’re doing it.
