Yet another disaster in the Orient. Terrible destruction of one of Myanmar's more densely populated regions. And to the utter suffering of the populace, little or no relief. Tens of thousands have died and even more face an unsustainable existence, but relief is available to only few. Why? The governments of the US and the west are apt to point out the failure of the Myanmar Junta government to distribute aid, to save its people. The US offered some 3 million dollars in relief, a paltry and pathetic sum minuscule in comparison to the wealth it utilizes to kill innocents in the Middle East, and also demanded access to Myanmar, military and otherwise, in order to help distribute relief supplies. So strong is this American Altruistic Fervor that in addition to the 3million dollars, US and other warships are moving to the are around Myanmar, menacingly. Magazines in the US, Time most notably, have made overtures of Invasion for the Good of the People. If the Junta cannot take care of their people, there must be an invasion, a US invasion with US power control etc...
While the Junta is worthy of all the blame cast upon it, it is a reactionary, decrepit regime guilty of indifference to the suffering of its people, the righteous US and its aids are no better. They offer minuscule relief and hypocritically attack the country. THeir solution is invasion, and after two failed ones already, they are sure third time would be a charm. It is not their supposed altruism to save the suffering, indeed after the 2004 Tsunami the US and co. offered little or nothing, no rhetoric of compassion then, it is their want to gain strategic control in Asia, around China. As always, the roots of this outrage are in the attempt to seize power and opportunity. The petty imperialism, economic and social gangsterism and the unyielding exploitation of the poor and disenfranchised is the main objective of the US, its allies and the Myanmar Junta, simple they are two opposing camps. I implore you, do not be swayed by this pathetic and sickening display of caring for the poor in Myanmar. Were the US and its allies intent on helping, they would not limit themselves to Myanmar, and they would surely no simply be compassionate for this one time.
