I'm Mormon: want to learn more about the religion?

Hey everyone,

I am a devout Mormon church-goer and I've seen on this website that there is quite a bit of confusion about the Mormon/LDS Religion and I am here to help address those questions. If you have any questions about the religion you can either post something new for everyone or you can contact me at my email, you should be able to just email me. I hope that I can clear up EVERY misconception

I am an atheist. Can you please educate me about your god? And if mormons believe in the devil? And if there is a heaven or hell, according to the mormon beliefs?

Our god is the same god that many people believe in, we just believe in different teachings. We do believe in the devil, the devil can and is in everyones life. There is a heaven and a hell, however they almost mesh together, there are 3 kingdoms that you can go into after you die the The Celestial kingdom is the highest then there is the Terrestrial and then the Telestial -- Beyond that there is something called perdition which is just like hell but it is rare that some will go there. The Telestial kingdom will contain some of the most awful sinners of our time (I suppose that people like Hitler will be there) Religion is a huge thing, if you would like to learn more the best way is to go to lds.org and take a look at everything there, if you use their search function you will be able to answer all of your questions.

yes this is true because for one it is lawful and two when one is doing sexual acts they are practicing something so spiritual that they must be bound as husband and wife in the eyes of the Lord

Now, this other question, I am curious about. Can guys masturbate being a mormon? Or not? And if they do, is it a sin? And what do they do to be free of their sin? And are you married? Or have you masturbated?

Depends on the jurisdiction. In places like California, they can get legally married but not religiously married.

I have never heard anything explicitly saying that it was wrong, however I am a guy and I do have the same urges and react in the same way if that answers your question. I am definitely not married and it'll be at least 6 years before I am

no this is the most common misconception about mormons -- all mormons or more to say Latter day Saints (LDS) do not practice this. Back in the mid 1800's they practiced it due to the fact that there were more females than males in the community. Especially when the men were called off to fight in the mexican war, however, there are people called the FLDS church or fundamentalists and they believe in and practice polygamy (marrying multiple wives) it is not part of our religion they just use part of our name

ALL actual legitimate Mormon or LDS Marriages are ALWAYS between a man and a woman.

all c.e.o's or prophets are what we call them. they are elected or called upon by revelation revealed to prophets previous. and the prophets are the member of the seventy that have been serving the longest

no there is another branch of lds people that claim they are part of the same religion but they gay mormons, someday I hope that they will come to understand that their lifestyle is wrong

you know sometimes I ask myself the same question and I really don't know why you'd need to date before you're 16, where're you going to go and how are you going to get there? your mom could drive I guess
