      The Ultimate Guide To Puberty,

Puberty can be a strange and wonderful thing. It is the time of you leaving your childhood and becoming a teenager and then on to becoming a man or a woman, depending on your gender. During puberty you will be reaching sexual maturity, Adolescence and basically growing up.

When the time is right for you, your body sends a signal from your pituitary gland in your brain to your body for puberty to begin. During puberty, your body is going to change a lot and in very different ways. Some noticeable, others not so much. Girls attain adult height and reproductive maturity about 4 years after the first physical changes of puberty appear. In contrast, boys accelerate more slowly but continue to grow for about 6 years after the first visible pubertal changes. Puberty begins at around 47 kg for girls and 55 kg for boys give or take a few.

Your probably thinking to yourself, what is puberty and how will it affect me or change me? You can find a answer to these questions depending on your sex below.

Below is a guide to the world of Puberty.

The first bit of our guide to the world of Puberty is for the boys but it can also be a interesting read for the girls if they are interested in knowing the changes during puberty that occurs to the boys.

      Boys and Puberty.

      Definition and What is it

Pubescent boys during puberty change a lot. There are times where they might have feelings that they don’t fit in. During puberty in boys, there is a big rate of development, sometimes more then girls. Two pubescent boys can look very different from one another both physically and mentally. For example, one may have lots of body hair, be tall, look like they are older then their years and have a very deep voice while one of his peers may be short, little or no body hair, still look young and have a child like voice. This may change during their teen years or early adulteress but you may still ask, why and how do boys change into young adults so they become men? The simple answer lies in the understanding of hormones and Even in the womb, a male fetus contains small amounts of the "male" hormone—testosterone.

Puberty will normally start in boys between the ages of 11 and 15 and normally end between 15 and 18 but may differ depending on the boy.

Most likely, you understand what puberty is, after reading the above definition and example but are still wondering, what exactly will happen to my body and to myself during these times? The following are stuff that you will or may experience in puberty.

During a boy’s puberty, one’s male sex gland (also known as testicles by the general population of the world) will grow bigger over time and as they grow, the sex gland or testicles will hand lower “down there” and become more noticeable in the scrotum than they were before, as in, you can see them more, or through your pants/shorts they will be. This is why, many people say that famous line boy's balls will drop, but really they have already been there and in the boy’s scrotums, long before puberty even hit him.

One’s male penis (You only got one haha) will grow larger and both his penis and his scrotum will appear and get slightly redder/darker. One sex gland (aka testicle) will most likely hang lower than the other to prevent collision with the other sex gland for reasons due to the fact, it wouldn’t be nice for both you and the sex glands, There is no set one on what sex gland (aka testicle) hangs lower and it may change during a boy’s puberty session.

Because of puberty and its time frame, the boy’s penis size depends on how far the boy is into puberty. It would not be uncommon for a 13-14 year old boy who hasn't started puberty to have a 3 inch penis, and it would not be uncommon for a 15 year old boy who is far along in puberty to have a 6-7 inch penis. The average adult size is 6 and a half to seven inches. Bigger sizes and smaller may differ by the boy, many may have bigger, many may have small and some may just have average size.

Because of puberty, a boy’s body will start producing more sex hormones, so they have more sexual feelings and more erection and a possible sex drive. Erections (Boners or whatever you choose to call it) may and can appear when they're not even turned on (aroused) and sometimes at the most awkward moments and just about anywhere at any time. A boy may feel embarrassed, but it’s a natural part of life, and most times, no one will notice, unless you happen to be naked, or someone happens to be looking at your crotch area at that point in time. Erections will always go down, aka your penis will shrink and go back to normal size as the blood pours out of your penis and back into other areas. If it doesn’t after a period of say, a hour, you should seek medical help.

An erection is a hardening of the penis that occurs when sponge-like tissue inside the penis fills up with blood. Usually, an erection causes the penis to enlarge and stand away from the body.

During puberty, boys begin to experience erections (Boners or hardons) more then before they started puberty. A erection is the hardening of a penis (Aka it gets hard to the touch and you can feel it through your pants) due to sponge-like tissue inside the penis fills up with blood.. Erections occur when boys think about sexual things or they can even occur for no reason at all due to the general nature or they are thinking about sexual things in the back of their mind or see a hot girl or a hot guy…/.
Boys also may experience something called nocturnal emissions (also known as wet dreams for the lessees scientific people.). Wet dreams occur when the boy’s penis becoming erect when he is sleeping and he ejaculates in his sleep, Wet dreams are sexual dreams. A ejaculation is when fluid comes out of the penis (the fluid contains sperm). After a wet dream, you or your underwear may be a little wet when you wake up or you may wake up when you ejaculate due to the stimulus on your body Wet dreams will happen less often as boys moves through puberty and they eventually stop or they may not for quite some time after puberty.

During Puberty, a boy will develop hair around his penis, on his scrotum and around it, under his armpits, and start to grow facial hair. Your body will also start to fill out and to start to shape during puberty. His shoulders will grow wider and his body will become more muscular in most cases except for rare ones.

During one’s girl puberty same as boys, their skin may get oilier and most chances is pimples will usually start showing up when puberty begins due to the sexual nature of puberty and the other changes of puberty and also because of more hormones and oil glands that become more active during puberty,. Pimples are not caused by chocolate as many quack doctors like to claim, they are caused by hormones. Some of the locations you may see pimples bloom on are: general area around your face (most times your cheeks, noses, sides of your faces, and forehead), your upper back , or your upper chest. You may not get them on your upper chest and upper back, it all depends on what happens. Every puberty is different. Acne and pimples leave scares and cuts of squeezed, picked or popped and could lead to serious infections and even death. Please contact your local doctor, pharmacist or a dermatologist (a doctor that treats skin problems) on ways to clear up acne and pimples. There are many good treatments that can completely rid you of these nasties if the cream is applied as prescribed nightly. A plus side of this, is it only happens once in your life time and they wont continue to pop up throughout the course of your adulthood even through one or two might remain with you.

Also during puberty, some boys (once again, not all) will experience mild to severe swelling underneath their nipples which could look like your growing breasts! Don’t freak out or panic or rush to your doctor, this is only temporary and its happening because your body is changing so fast during puberty. Its not possible to grow breasts during puberty normally except in EXTREMELY-EXTREMELY rare cases

And one of the last major changes during puberty is the changing of the boy’s voice. The voice will start to sound lower and less child high pitched. .The tone might wobble, crackle or be difficult to control at first, but overtime during puberty, you will grasp it to talk normal after speaking. There is no lessons involved, its just something you grow out of.

      Girls and Puberty.

      Definition and What is it

Pubescent girls are go through a lot of changes, Girls may also feel different then their peers and many changes that a girl experiences during puberty are very different then boy’s experiences and some may be quite similar. You shouldn’t try to feel different then your peers because you look different, you are a human being and you are a young girl about to step onto the highway of becoming a lady or a woman (whichever word you prefer).

The average girl start puberty around the ages of 9 and between 14, but depending on the girl in question, it could be earlier or later.

So after reading above, you got a pretty good grasp on what generally will occur and why it happens, but the real question your wondering, what is going to happen to my body?

One of the main changes in a girl’s puberty, that is very easy to spot and is mostly common knowledge now, is that the girl’s breasts will start to grow and shape. In the beginning of the changes to your breasts, they may tend to hurt sometimes (it may be all the time or it could randomly pop up) and feel tender (unusually sensitive) when they are touched or felt. While this may be highly uncomfortable (as a male writer of this guide, I have no clue of the feelings, I can only guess), there will be change after time during your puberty as your breasts become rounder and bigger (fuller). Most girls, if not all but a few also have breasts that develop unevenly; one breast may be bigger than the other, but this is perfectly normal and normally will even out or it may stay with you for the rest of your life. Due to rapid development of breasts can lead to “stretch marks“, but these will lighten/disappear within time during the course of your puberty. Puberty in girls is the time, you may need to start wearing a bra to support your breast (Yes, they can strain your back and cause health problems). You will want to talk to your mother, your older sister or a adult or family member that would have knowledge or experience in puberty of girls. Make sure you are them are comfortable about talking and buying some bras. I won’t go into how to wear a bra, as the person helping you can show you, and the packaging normally explains it.

One of the other big things during puberty in girls, also with boys is you will start to grow taller. But being a girl, you will have a growth spurt the year before you get/have your menstrual period.
You will be most likely to grow anywhere from 2-10 inches in only a few short years during your puberty as a girl. The growth will initially start in your feet and hands, your hips will get wider as your waist gets smaller most times and then the rest of your body will follow. The sole reason your height changes is because the bones in your legs and trunk of your body are growing and this causes your height to change in your body. Pretty cool eh?

It happens to be very important to get check-ups during girl’s puberty to make sure that your height and weight are normal and nothing bad is occurring. Just stop by at a Doctor’s office with a adult (has to be guardian) to book an appointment and don’t forget to mention what the check-up is for.

Another thing that happens during a girls puberty, pretty much the same as boys, is you will start to grow hair around your private area (around your vagina - NEVER in it.) and under your arms in your arm pits. This happens most times after what your breasts change and develop, but for most girls, public hair will occur during your breast development or even before it. Now, you won’t wake up morning with a private area/arm-pit full of hair, it will happen over time and normally around the private area before under your arms in your arm-pits.

There is no medical reasons or a need too, but most girls simply prefer not to have underarm hair because it’s a natural stance that guys do and girls don‘t but at the end of the day, its up to you if you want to shave or not. Most chances will be, you will shave your arm-pit hair as a girl, and personally as a guy, I’d recommend it for a girl (even through guys don’t) as it all falls under sex appeal. Talk to your mother or another adult that you feel comfortable with to discuss this further and/or find our techniques to shave your under-arm hair (They can also help you find girl razors to do this, don’t use guy razors, big no no, as they are designed for shaving of the face.)

One of the other thing you may not notice, unless you look down there but yes, it is still happening is that your vagina will change shape, with the labia minora (inner-lips in plain old English) getting larger (Size depends).
You will most likely (nah, you will) will start getting vaginal discharges, which without a doubt most times (Unless its medical related) it’s the sign that you’ll soon start your periods which is also part of the puberty cycle in girls and young adulthood.
Most girls notice a yellow or white stain in the crotch of their underpants as they go through puberty. This is a normal fluid that helps clean and moisten your vagina.

During the course of your puberty session as a girl, at one point in time, you will begin your period. Your menstrual period feels like liquid flowing slowly, with starts and stops, out of your vagina, and this is exactly what happens during your menstrual period. Blood flows slowly out of your vagina. Although it may seem like a lot of blood, only a small amount is really released at a time. It is very normal to see small clots of blood on the toilet paper when you urinate, and you are most likely, not to see huge amounts of blood.

Girls and women today have more options in feminine protection than ever, so your lucky. In a nutshell, there happens to be two basic types of feminine protection products: external protection and internal protection. External protection (pads and pantiliners, etc) is placed or attached to the crotch of your underpants to absorb your menstrual flow after it leaves the body, while internal protection (tampons) is inserted into the vagina to catch or absorb your menstrual flow before it leaves the body. Make sure you read the directions on the package and change them frequently, ever four to eight hours. One again, discuss your options and the different types with your mother or another adult you feel comfortable with as this will help you make a decision about which kind to use. Both internal and external protection are most safe. There is a risk of Toxic Shock Syndrome with tampons, but the risk is very low when used correctly (If you think or someone else thinks you have the syndrome, dial 911! Do not hesitate).

During your menstrual period, you can still do your normal activities and swim during it. Believe it or not, people and girls used to believe and think that you shouldn't swim, play sports, or do other normal activities when you had your menstrual period, which is completely bollocks in most cases, my dear girl! If you have the right type of menstrual protection, you can do anything your heart desires! A well known fact is that swimming and playing sports may make you feel better during your menstrual period and keep your mind away from the fact. While some girls prefer to do this, most girls prefer to be less active when they have a heavy flow or cramps. Most likely, You will probably be more comfortable if you use a tampon when you swim or play sports (make sure you get the right one for the sport or activity) due to it helps.

A plus side of this, is it only happens once in your life time and they wont continue to pop up throughout the course of your adulthood even through one or two might remain with you.

Another thing during puberty, you will notice, or more likely others will around you is that your sweat glands will become more active during puberty (Oh great.). This can cause perspiration odour (otherwise know as the infamous Body Order or BO). This is nature’s way of telling you its time to go shopping for deodorant, to help fight the odour. Now, deodorant doesn’t mean it cleans it away, it simply hides the smell, you must practice hygiene methods, such as showering daily and having a clean body to completely fight it. (I wont go into it, as this is puberty, not hygiene, I can write that after.)

Even if you wrote this in your own words, you still need sources of where this information was derived. I sincerely doubt you know all about girls' puberty first hand like
"Your menstrual period feels like liquid flowing slowly, with starts and stops, out of your vagina, and this is exactly what happens during your menstrual period. "

How would you know? You must have had a source.

You wrote this... but your grammar isnt good... Not that i read this and what are the sources you used!!!
Meh, dont care about grammar, this was to replace that one that Loo made that was copied and pasted word by word.

Fuck, "This does not mean that sources has been used to write this article, it simply means" should be, "This does not mean that sources werent used."

      My bad.
    • Re: The Ultimate Guide To Puberty

Ok...I was just wondering if you were going to cite the sources. I suppose not.
No need really, I used about 100 different sites, and I dont want to list them all, I took bits and pieces from them all and combined it using my own words and write-up, but yes, half the article is from my head, most of it is also common knowledge or stuff I was taught.

Thats why I added the small footnote,

I was asked to re-write the other one that was basically ripped from a site, so I did it.
